Difference between Internal and Daily Households in RecTrac 3.1
Question
What is the difference between the internal household and the daily household? In previous versions of RecTrac, weren't these one and the same?
Answer
You are correct. In RecTrac 10.3 and previous, the 999999999 household used to act as both the daily/guest and internal household.
In RecTrac 3.1, they are separate. The 999999999 household is the "Daily/Guest Household." This is the household to which daily plays, daily visits, daily sales, guest WebTrac transactions, etc. are posted. The "Internal Household" is user-defined in the Daily Processing profile. By putting it on the Daily Processing profile, each location or department (i.e. Golf Course, Pool, Senior Center, Youth Services, etc.) can have their own internal household for doing internal bookings/postings/sales. This will give each entity freedom to easily report on its own internal transactions.
The Daily/Guest Household button in Global Sales bypasses the Daily Processing profile and links the daily sale directly to the default 999999999 Internal Household, just like it does in 10.3 and previous. The Internal Household button in Global Sales links daily sales to the Household you have linked in the Internal Household field on your Daily Processing profile. This allows you to have different "Internal Households" for your different locations/departments in your organization if you want, so daily sales at the pool could be linked to the 'Pool' Internal Household (as can internal reservation for swim classes at the pool) and and daily sales at the golf course could be linked to the golf course, etc.
