How do you set up and use Coupons in 3.1
Solution
Basic steps for Coupons are provided below. Click the link at the bottom of the page for more complete information.
To Create Coupons
1. Go to Coupon Management to create the Coupon Codes.
1a. Decide whether you want to Serialize them.
1b. Decide whether you wish to add Rules to them. Rules linked to Coupons need to be Transaction type Rules (Good on Weekdays only. Not good on Weekends. Not good before 4pm, one per Family only, etc...)
2. Link the Coupon Code to the Fees they can be used for. Go to Advanced Fees > Payment Options group.
3. Ensure the 'Allow Coupons' option is selected on your Payment profile.
To Redeem Coupons
1. From Global Sales, select the item into the Shopping Cart and go to the Payment Screen.
2. On the Payment Screen, click the Add Coupon button.
3. Select the Coupon Code to apply. If coupons are Serialized, enter the number in the Serial ID field.
4. Click Select.
5. Fees are reduced automatically, like a discount. So if your Fee was 50.00 and you apply a 10% coupon, the Fees Due will adjust to 45.00 automatically.
6. Make the payment like you normally would.
