How to sort RecTrac 3.1 DataGrids by multiple matches
Problem
Is it possible to sort DataGrids by multiple 'types or matches' in a column? For example, in the AR Section DataGrid, I want to see just my Swim and Aerobic program types only.
Solution
Response: Yes, this is possible from any Combo Box type field on a DataGrid. Using the AR Section DataGrid example above, Combo Box fields would include Type, SubType, Category, Fac Class, Fac Loc, Fac Code, etc.
To Sort a DataGrid by Specific Codes
1. Go to the DataGrid of your choice. In this example, the Activity Section Management DataGrid.
2. Place your cursor in the Combo Box field by which you wish to sort. In this example: Type.
3. Enter Codes by which you wish to sort. Separate each Code by a comma and no space. In this example: SWIM,AEROBIC
Note: The latent type-ahead feature will offer a selection of Codes matching your keystrokes. If desired, you can up or down arrow to select the Code of your choice.
4. <TAB> out of the field. Do NOT use the <Enter> key. The DataGrid will sort by the choices you made.
5. You could then create a Template for that specific search group using the Options setting on the DataGrid to save that search for future use as a template.
