Problem
The tiebreaker in league standings doesnt seem to be working. Ive got my league set up so head to head is the first tiebreaker. But I have two teams that are tied, and Team A won their only head to head matchup. Yet the standings show Team B ahead of Team A.
Solution
Make sure you're using Winning Percentage as a Tiebreaker and that it (Winning Percentage) is listed ahead of Head-to-Head in the tiebreak hierarchy.
In order for the Head-to-Head tiebreaker option to work, you need to have Winning Percentage as a tiebreaker, and it needs to be listed above the Head-to-Head option so that it is used first. When set this way, the system will tie teams by Winning Percentage first and then use Head-to-Head between teams with the same Winning Percentage to break the Winning Percentage tie. So if Team A and Team B both have .875 winning percentages, but Team A beat Team B in their only matchup, then the system would see the Winning Percentage tie first and use the Head-to-Head matchup between Team A and B to determine the winner.
When set the other way, the system looks at every head-to-head matchup over the entire league schedule to set the first tie breaker and then uses Winning Percentage to break the Head-to-Head tie. Two teams with identical records would always remain tied in this scenario because the system doesn't care who beat whom; it cares only about the record. So if Team A and Team B both won 14 of 16 games (.875 winning percentage), the system would look at Head-to-Head across the entire League Schedule and see identical records. For Example: Team A lost to Team C and Team D, while Team B lost to Team A and Team F. In this scenario, the system sees both Teams A and B as 14-2 in head-to-head play.
