Clearing transactions that are stuck in the Shopping Cart - RecTrac 3.1
Problem
One of our clerks was processing a sale in 3.1 Global Sales when the database went down. Upon restart, we couldn't recover the Session. So now the affected Household has items stuck in the Shopping Cart. Is there an easy way to clear the Shopping Cart and re-do the sale?
Solution
Yes. You can use the In Process tab in Global Sales.
RecTrac 3.1.07.01 and later contains an In Process tab in Global Sales to help with lost sessions that result in items getting 'stuck' in the Shopping Cart. Access to this tab is controlled in the Daily Processing profile. To enable the Tab for your users, go to the Core screen of the Daily Processing profile and select 'In Process' in the Modules and Additional Components field.
When in Global Sales, the In Process tab displays the contents of a household's Shopping Cart, along with the Session ID for each item. Below the DataGrid, there are Open Session and End Selected Session buttons.
Highlighting a specific item in the DataGrid and clicking Open Session will open Session Maintenance, and the user's RecTrac session will be pre-selected.
Highlighting an item in the DataGrid and clicking End Selected Session will end the user's RecTrac session and remove all corresponding cart items.
Note: Access to these two buttons is set in the Permissions profile Button/Misc Permissions tab Button/Field Permission DataGrid GlobalSalesArea_ButtonEndSelectedSession / GlobalSalesArea_ButtonOpenSessionManagement
