Cross Reference Number field in RecTrac 3.1 does not save the entire number entered
Problem
When entering Cross Reference numbers for members in RecTrac, the system lets us enter an 8-digit number, but it seems to be only saving five (5) of them. We enter the 8-digit number and Save. When we go back into Cross Reference Update, only five (5) numbers are in the field.
Solution
Go to your ID Swipe profile. Find the Option x Settings group that you use for Swipe Option 'Cross Reference' and verify the value in the ID Length field. That value determines the number of digits you can store in the Cross Reference Number field. Make changes as needed and Save. In this case, you likely need to change the value from '5' to '8.' Changes take effect immediately. Return to Household Management > Cross Reference Update, and re-enter Cross Ref Numbers as needed.
On your ID Swipe profile you should have an Option group (Option 1, 2, or 3 Settings) where the Swipe Option is 'Cross Reference.' Within that group, the value in the ID Length field determines the number of characters that will be saved in this field. If you enter more characters in Cross Reference Number field in Household Update than the value in the ID Length field on your ID Swipe profile, then the system will truncate the number you enter to the number of digits allowed upon clicking the Save button. If you need longer Cross Reference Numbers, then you need to increase the value in the applicable ID Length field of your ID Swipe profile. Optionally you can set the value to '0' to remove the limitation all together.
