Transactions are being recorded under the Default Drawer and not Drawer linked to User ID in 3.1
Problem
We're seeing some transactions going through on Cash Drawer 1, even though the user and/or workstation is linked to another Drawer. Is there a setting that can change this?
RecTrac 3.1
Solution
Ensure VIC is running on the workstation(s) where payments are being processed on Cash Drawer 1.
Generally speaking, a default RecTrac setup includes a Cash Drawer profile at the Default level. Typically this is 'Cash Drawer 1' (though your setup may vary). Other Cash Drawer profiles are then linked at the workstation level or in some cases at the User ID level. When processing under normal conditions, VIC 'picks up' the appropriate Cash Drawer profile linked to the User logged in and uses it.
If transactions are being recorded under the Default Drawer, then it is likely that VIC is not running on the workstation. If VIC is not running:
1. Exit the RecTrac application.
2. Start VIC (.exe, service or both as needed).
3. Log back into RecTrac and ensure you get the 'green light' for VIC.
4. Click the 'Gear' icon located on the top right-hand corner of the screen. This will display your workstation name and drawer number. Ensure this information is accurate and then continue processing as you normally would.
If VIC is connected and is returning the proper workstation name and drawer number, but the User logged in is still processing under the default drawer, then contact VSI Support for further troubleshooting.
