Accessibility for Vermont Systems Products (WCAG VPAT)
Learn about the Vermont Systems approach to accessibility and access Vermont Systems artifacts for your Accessibility Plan.
Did you know that many States have enacted laws such as Colorado’s HB21-1110 requiring government organizations to develop and adhere to an accessibility plan to ensure programs and services offered via technology are accessible to individuals with disabilities? Attached you will find the current Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) for the Vermont Systems community-facing WebTrac Interface of the RecTrac application. The VPAT represents Vermont Systems' self-assessment of the accessibility of our customer-facing interface and is updated with any significant change to the application interface and/or widely accepted accessibility standards. In addition to our most recent VPAT, you will find the Vermont Systems WCAG Policy and Guidelines which outlines Vermont Systems' stance and processes for ensuring our patron-facing interfaces remain accessible to individuals with disabilities.
At Vermont Systems, making Parks and Recreation Services accessible to communities through technology is at the heart of what we do. Vermont Systems strives to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA standards in all patron-facing core application features and processes. While working to meet/exceed these standards, we recognize the subjective nature of referring to our applications as WCAG 2.1 AA compliant or conformant, due to guidelines and available tooling result ambiguity as well as inconsistency across tooling in identifying and ‘measuring’ accessibility. To this end, Vermont Systems refers to its applications as accessible or not. The attached documentation serves as Vermont Systems' current status on the accessibility of our applications. Should you have further questions regarding accessibility or a need to report an accessibility concern with a Vermont Systems application please contact Vermont Systems VP of Product Management, Bryan Gillilan.
