RecTrac 3.1.10.16.01
Table of Contents
Problem
Users are getting locked out of RecTrac and are receiving Invalid UserName/Password. This message wording leads the user to mistakenly believe they typed their password incorrectly or their username is incorrect.
Solution
Change this message in RecTrac's Language Code Management.
Note: Limit the information that you provide, as offering too much information poses a security risk. Use generic wording, like "Invalid UserName/Password or User is Locked out. Contact you Administrator for more details."
Steps For Solution
- From your RecTrac main menu, navigate to Language Code Management.
- Search for "Invalid UserName/Password" in the Phrase Column in the upper DataGrid, VSI Language Codes.
- Alternatively: Search VSI-509 in the Phrase ID column.
- Select VSI-509.
- Click Add.
- Select your Language Code (often called custom or similar).
- If you do not have a language code, you can add one at this stage then after go to Profile Assignments and add it to your screen design profile(s).
- Update Phrase as needed. For Example: "Invalid UserName/Password or User is Locked out. Contact you Administrator for more details."
- Click Save.
