How to query session info
RecTrac 3.1.10.30.01
Table of Contents
Problem
We would like to be able to audit a specific session. Either a patron session on WebTrac, or a user session in RecTrac. How can we view specific session information via RecTrac?
Solution
You can query the SASessionInfo and SASessionTracking tables in DB Inquiry for information about specific sessions.
Steps For Solution
To verify you are logging session info:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Profile Assignments.
- Click Static Parameters.
- Expand the Interface Session Tracking Settings group.
- Set the RecTrac, WebTrac, and Mobile tracking fields to On - Track Everything.
Note:
This info will only be stored for as long as the "Delete Session Tracking info Older than X Days" fields are set.
To run the query:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to DB Inquiry.
- Select Table To View to query the SASessionInfo or the SASessionTracking tables.
- The Query you will use is SessionID = "enter the sessionid here".
- Click View.
Note:
When viewing the SASessionTracking table, sort the results DataGrid by ID to see the exact order of events within the session.
The query results DataGrid should now show everything related to that specific session.
