Problem
Our patrons are calling in saying they get errors when trying to access WebTrac. This is what they see:
HTTP Error 403 Access Denied/Forbidden when accessing the WebTrac URL.
How can we resolve this?
Solution
Check the IUSR account linked to the web site in IIS and ensure that it has proper rights to all applicable folders. Also, ensure that the website is not being hosted on a domain controller or backup domain controller. A website needs a local user account and not a domain account to function properly, and domain controllers don't have local windows user accounts.
