The Accrual Update screen allows you to add or update Leave Time Accrual Codes. The Accrual Management program allows you to set up the formulas by which employees accrue leave, be it vacation time, personal time, holiday time, compensation time, etc….
Note: Field names on the screen with red labels* are required by the screen design you are using. Mandatory fields in the default Vermont Systems design are noted where appropriate. Your design and mandatory fields may vary.
From the bottom of the screen…
Click Save to save changes. You will return to the previous screen.
Click Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving changes.

Accrual Code (PRACCRUAL_AccrualCode)
If you are creating a new Accrual Code, then enter your Accrual Code in this field. Codes may be alpha and/or numeric. For Example: SICK. This is a mandatory field for the standard VSI Design. Your Design may vary.
If you are updating an existing Accrual Code then you will not visit this field.
DeleteDescription (PRACCRUAL_Description)
Enter the Description for this Accrual Code. For Example: Sick Leave.
DeleteAccrual Rate (PRACCRUAL_AccrualRate)
Enter a value in the Accrual Code field. The value you enter is the rate at which time will be accrued under this code.

Expand the Drop-down list for Accrual Unit and select time unit of measurement for the Leave Accrual.
THEN
Expand the Drop-down list for Work/Calendar Unit and select how this time will be accrued (i.e. the per "). For Example: For Sick Leave staff accrue 0.5 (Accrual Rate) Days (Accrual Unit) per Month (Work/Calendar Unit).
Note: The entries in the Drop-down lists are maintained in Unit Management. Type = Time.

Maximum (PRACCRUAL_Maximum)
Enter the Maximum number of Accrual Units that a staff member can accrue for this code. If there is no limit, then enter 0."
DeleteAutomatic Accrual (PRACCRUAL_Automatic)
Select this option if you want Leave Time Accrual to be Automatic. De-select this option if you want to update Leave Time Accrual manually.
When this option is enabled, the system will run accrual for employees automatically based on the time worked. When this option is de-selected, you must run the accrual process manually.
Note: This option is applicable for Time Worked Accrual Codes only. In other words you cannot have this option enabled if you also have the Calendar Accrual option enabled. The system will not allow you to Save the record if both options are enabled. Calendar-based Leave Time Accrual must be updated manually using the Leave Calendar Accrual program.
