The Profile Management program defines the types and characteristics of each Profile. Profiles can be linked to Users, Menu Groups and/or Workstations, or they can be linked at the Default level.
RecTrac uses a Profile hierarchy to choose a Profile for a given task, for example: printing a receipt When doing so, the system first looks to see if an applicable Profile is linked to the user that is logged in. If so, it uses that Profile. If not, the system looks to see if an applicable Profile is linked to the menu group for the user that is logged in. If so, it uses that Profile. If not, the system looks to see if an applicable Profile is linked to the workstation being used. If so, it uses that Profile. If not, the system looks to see if an applicable Profile is set as a default.
Making changes to a profile is an Audited Event. Additionally, Linking, Removing, Purging, and Cloning profiles are also Audited Events.
