Per Punch Punch Pass Pricing allows for the sale of Punch Passes on a 'per punch' basis as opposed to a flat rate for the pass. When selling punch passes on a 'per punch' basis, the system calculates the cost to customers based on the number of punches they choose to purchase. RecTrac Pass Management allows you to set a Default Number of Punches as well as Minimum and Maximum values.
For Example: Punch passes are sold at $10.00/punch. Your default setup is a Punch Pass with 20 punches for $200.00. Patrons must purchase at least 10 punches and can purchase up to 30. Robert Ballard comes into your department and decides he wants to purchase a pass with 10 punches only. The charge to Robert is $100.00. Ken Marschall comes in later and decides he wants a punch pass with 25 punches. The price to him is $250.00.
To Use Per Punch Pricing:
- In Pass Management, for the selected Punch Pass, set your values for the following. Use the "i" and "?" Help icons screen for field definitions, if needed.
- Default Punch Visits Using the example above, you would enter 20.
- Minimum Punch Visits Using the example above, you would enter 10.
- Maximum Punch Visits Using the example above, you would enter 30.
- Punch Visit Amount Override
- Punch Visit Amount Override Code, if needed.
- If you sell passes via WebTrac and want patrons to pick the number of punches they want, select the Allow Punch Visit Update in WebTrac? option. This field is on the WebTrac Settings group of Pass Update.
- When establishing your Fees for the Punch Pass, use Advanced Fee Add/Change. Ensure you address the following:
- The Amount will be the Per Punch Amount. Using the example above, you would enter 10.00.
- Fee Type = Standard Fee.
- Transaction Type = Purchase. If you allow Renewals and/or Transfers, you will select those options as well.
- Select the Use Head/Visit/Punches for Quantity option in the Miscellaneous Settings group.
- Fill out the remaining fields as needed.
- When you sell the pass, the system initially applies the default number of passes. This appears in the Punch Visits field, under the Punch Pass DataGrid. You can accept this value or overwrite it with a value that falls within your Minimum and Maximum numbers.
- When you Select the pass into the Shopping Cart, RecTrac does the math and applies the number of punches entered.
Note: Whether you can override the Min/Max values on the Pass (i.e. sell more punches than the Max value or fewer than the Min value) at the time of sale is determined by your Punch Visit Amount Override setting. Refer to the online Help for explanations and definitions, if needed.
