Setting Up Visit Purpose

Problem
We want to track the purpose of patron visits when they swipe in so we can report on patron visit trends.
Solution
Set up the Visit Purpose, which will display on reports. Ensure Prompting for Visit Purpose.
Steps For Solution
- From your RecTrac main menu, navigate to Profile Assignments.
- Select the Visit Profile in use for your location.
- Click Update.
- Use the pick list icon next to Visit Purpose List to open the System Code Management - Visit Purpose window.
- From the DataGrid, select any existing Visit Purpose System Codes you wish to associate with this Visit Profile.
- Click Add to add additional Visit Purpose System Codes.
- Optional: Toggle on Visit Purpose Required? and/or Allow Multiple Visit Purposes.
- Click Save.
- Navigate to Pass Management.
- From the DataGrid, select the desired pass.
- Click Change.
- Click the Core Continued tab.
- Use the pick list icon next to Visit Purpose List to open the System Code Management - Visit Purpose window.
- From the DataGrid, select any existing Visit Purpose System Codes you wish to associate with this pass.
- Click Select.
- Toggle on Allow Update of Visit Purpose.
- Click Save. (Note, if only one purpose in list, you will not be prompted but system will link to each visit. You need more than one purpose to get the prompt)
To prompt the Visit Purpose to display on reports:
- Go to Module Management (for the Visit Purpose question to appear for all visits) or directly to a pass in pass (for the Visit Purpose question appear for a single pass)
- From the DataGrid, select Pass Visit (in Module Management) or the specific pass (in Pass Management).
- Click Change.
- Click the Questions tab.
- Click Link Individual Question.
- Click Add.
- Though you don't need to enter Question Text for this specific question, complete the following settings:
- Question Type: Visit
- Interface Type: All
- Field Type: VSI Function- Pass Visit Purpose
- Click Save.
