The Load VSI Patch Data program allows you apply patches in RecTrac 3.1 for specific programs. This program DOES NOT allow you to run Minor Build Updates. It allows you to load patch files only.VSI determines which programs can be patched. Generally speaking, you will use this program to apply fixes for critical bugs that severely impact daily processing and reporting.
Notes:
- Access to this program is protected by VSI access code. Prior to running this program you must obtain an access code from VSI Support.
- An Audit Log entry is made whenever this program is run (i.e. whenver a user clicks the Load Patch Data button. The Audit Log entry is made regardless of whether the Load VSI Patch succeeded or failed.
To Run the Load VSI Patch Data Program
- Obtain the patch file from VSI. This will be in the form of a <tasknumber>.xml file, which you will copy from the VSI FTP site.
- Review VSI Knowledge Base Entry 1516 or contact VSI Support if you do not know the current login credentials to the VSI FTP site.
- Copy the <tasknumber>.xml file from the VSI FTP site and save it locally.
- In the standard VSI Design, go to Management Ribbon • System Management • Misc Management group • Load VSI Patch Data.
- Enter the Access Code given to you by VSI Support and click Validate. You will continue to the program.
- In the Patch Task field, enter the six-digit Task Number that corresponds to the Patch File being applied.
- Click the Windows Explorer icon on the Patch Data XML File field and browse to the <tasknumber>.xml file to be loaded as patch data. Click Open.
- Click Load Patch Data to continue. You will receive a confirmation message upon completion.
- Repeat these steps as needed to load additional patch fields or exit back to the main menu.
From the bottom of the screen….
Click Load Patch Data to run this program.
Click Cancel to return to the main menu without applying any patch data.
To exit this program, click 'X' on the title bar. You will be returned to the Main Menu or the previous program.
LoadPatchDataStart_Tab
Patch Task # (LoadPatchDataStart_PatchTaskNumber)
Enter the six-digit Task Number that corresponds to the Patch File being applied. This is a mandatory field for the default VSI RecTrac Design. Your Design and setup may vary.
