10.3 and 3.1 Timeouts and Disconnects from Appserver When Running Lengthy Reports/Processes
Problem
We seem to timeout and disconnect from the appserver when running lengthy reports or processes over WAN. Are there any fixes for this behavior?
We have IIS 7.0 and use Application Request Routing.
Solution
Change the Proxy timeout on each web server via IIS in the Tomcat tree of Application Request Routing from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. This will fix the appserver reconnect issue when running a large report or process.
In IIS 7.0, from the tree, go to server farms and then click on Tomcat. In the middle content window, double click on proxy. Change the Time-out (seconds): value from 30 to desired value. Click Apply in the top right to complete.
No other restarts are needed.
