10.3 and 3.1 Unable to send request to web server connect001.rectrac.com. Error Code=12031
Problem
When trying to connect to a fully hosted customer site, I am getting the following error
'Unable to send request to web server connect001.rectrac.com. Error Code=12031'
Once I click OK, I get the following
'Unable to download application configuration file https://connect001.rectrac.com/downloads-tomcat6//RecTrac.prowcapc
I am using IE as a browser.
Solution
You are getting this error because the hosted website no longer supports SSL 3.0 and your bowser is trying to use that protocol.
For Internet Explorer browsers:
1 Go to Tools > Internet Options.
2 Click on the 'Advanced' tab.
3 Scroll down the Settings to the 'Security' settings.
4 Turn off 'Use SSL 2.0 and 'Use SSL 3.0.'
5 Turn on 'Use TLS 1.0,' Use TLS 1.1,' and 'Use TLS 1.2.'
6 Click OK and restart your IE browser.
For Firefox browsers:
1 Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ssl-version-control/
2 Install SSL Version Control by Mozilla.
Here are some websites with instructions on how to disable SSLv3.0 in several common browsers:
