Question
When I log in to RecTrac 3.1, how can I tell if VIC is running, or if I have to start it?
Answer
There are a number of good ways to do this:
- From within RecTrac, run a report. When you get to the Report Options screen, see if you have a printer available. If you do, then VIC is running. If you see "Printer List Not Available," then VIC is not running. (This answer assumes your workstation is connected to a printer.)
- From outside RecTrac, you can test whether VIC is running by looking for the VSI VIC Service in Windows Services or by ensuring the VIC.exe window is up and running on your desktop.
- VIC Service - Go to your Windows Services (Type "services" in the Search window). Scroll down and look for "VSI VIC Service." It should be listed as "Started." If it isn't, then right-click on it and select Start.
- VIC.exe- If running VIC.exe, the Vermont Integration Client Application Window should be open with green light in the upper right corner. If it's not started, find the Vermont Integration Client Application icon on the desktop and double-click to start it.
