How to Restart RecTrac 3.1 Event and Timer AppServers
Problem
We are getting a messaging saying Event Timer hasn't run in 700 minutes. What does this mean and what do we need to do?
Solution
Don't worry. The message simply means that your Event AppServer is not running and therefore certain processes, like reports, aren't running either. To resolve this issue, go to your RecTrac server, log into OpenEdge, and stop/restart the Event AppServer. Then go to Services and ensure the (VSI) Event Time service is running.
Here are some detailed steps.
- On the RecTrac server, go to Start ' Control Panel Administrative Tools Services
- Click Name column to sort and you should see (VSI) Event Timer
- Click (VSI) Event Timer and on the left, click Stop the Service. The service should no longer show "Started."
- Minimize the Service screen.
- Open a web browser and type in "https://localhost:9094" in the URL field. (If you are running RecTrac 3.1.07.xx or lower, enter "http://localhost:9094" instead.)
- Enter "admin" (with no quotes) in the Username and Password fields and log in.
- Scroll down the OpenEdge Rescource grid. Click on <your sever name>.EVENTlive.
- Click Broker Control. Click Stop AppServer.
- Wait a minute, literally, and then click Start AppServer.
- Restore the Services screen.
- Go to the Action drop-down menu and click Refresh
- (VSI) Event Timer should now automatically have a status of Started again
- If not stop and restart the AppServer until the Service restarts. You may have to do this a few times.
