Exporting Email Addresses from RecConnect in 3.1 to MS Excel
Problem
I need to get a listing of email addresses from RecConnect. In the past I could pull them and put into an Excel file (CVS). That option is not available. How can I get to these today?
Solution
Note: The example provided here details exporting Email Addresses from the RecConnect Results DataGrid. However, any RecConnect Result DataGrid can be exported to MS Excel using the steps below.
You can export patron email addresses and other information from a RecConnect report using the latent Export Comma Delimited option from the RecConnect Results DataGrid.
To Export Email Addresses from RecConnect
1. Run a RecConnect Program.
2. Proceed to the RecConnect Results screen.
3. In the RecConnect Results DataGrid, click the Options tab and select Export Comma Delimited.
4. Follow the onscreen prompts. Depending on the Browser you are using to access RecTrac,
- The file may be downloaded to your computer.
- The system may ask whether you want to open it in your default Spreadsheet program, likely MS Excel
5. From there, use standard Spreadsheet commands to manipulate the file as needed.
6. Once the file is open in your Spreadsheet program, any column from the DataGrid may be manipulated/exported, such as Name, Address, Zip Code, etc....
