3.1 Message indicating .Net Framework 4.6.2 is required for VIC in RecTrac 3.1.06.09
Problem
We're getting the following message upon login to RecTrac 3.1.06.09 and wonder what it means:
'This message is to inform you that a future version of VIC will require a new version of the .NET framework. Vermont Systems recommends installation of .NET 4.6.2 prior to that time in order to avoid downtime during the future VIC update. From the workstation you can use the following URL to install the new .NET framework: (Must Use Internet Explorer/Edge) 'https://webtrac.biparks.org/RecTrac/VIC/EXE/publish.htm' or you can use any other method of your choosing to distribute .NET 4.6.2 to your workstations.'
Solution
This notification is informational only and is intended to let you know that at some point you will have to update your version of .Net Framework on your clients to .Net 4.6.2 in order for VIC to run. Updating to .Net 4.6.2 is NOT necessary at this time, but it will be in the future.
Currently VIC requires .Net Framework 4.5. However, VIC will work with .Net 4.6.2, so updating your .Net version now is something you might do to be proactive.
You can check the version of .Net on your clients through Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel.
