Firefox 52 Updates are generating Security Message in 3.1
Problem
Since updating Firefox to version 52, my RecTrac users get a warning message on the login screen when they put the cursor in the Password field. 'This connection is not secure. Logins entered here could be compromised.'.
This is strictly an internal LAN connection, so our connections are set up as http. We would rather not have to go to https just to make this message go away. Do you know of a setting, either in the workstation's Firefox browser or on the server, that would disable this message?
Solution
To avoid receiving this message we recommend utilizing a secure connection to RecTrac. Best practice is to have a secure connection (HTTPS) regardless of whether RecTrac is accessed via LAN or WAN. If using a secure connection is not an option and you wish to suppress this message Firefox does allow this but it will impact all websites and we strongly discourage taking these steps.

1. In Firefox, in a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button to accept the risk.
2. In the search box above the list, type or paste insec and pause while the list is filtered
3. Double-click the security.insecure_field_warning.contextual.enabled preference to switch the value from true to false.
4. Exit Firefox. Start a new session and log into RecTrac. Users should no longer receive the warning messages.
