Emails are not being sent from our Demo Database in 3.1
Problem
I ran some reports in Demo and tried emailing them to myself, but the emails did not come through.
Solution
This is by design in RecTrac 3.1. When you use the VSI Live to Demo utility, the Email profile is removed from the demo database when the copy completes.
As a byproduct of running the Live to Demo utility, the following profiles are removed automatically from Profile Hierarchy in the demo database:
- Backup profiles - To ensure valid LIVE backups are not overwritten
- Credit Card profiles - To ensure that credit cards are not processed during demo sales.
- Email profiles - To ensure that emails are not sent to customers as a result of running some program in Demo, such as Installment Billing, Statements, etc.
To restore email functionality from your demo database, simply go to Profile Assignments and re-link an Email profile.
