Problem
Error when running a custom report. Report hangs, error in EVENTLive Appserver log displays.
(Procedure: 'business/CreateLogLocRecord.p' Line:515) The total length of the fields in an index exceeds max key size. Index ttPrimary of table (TEMP-TABLE)ttReport (129) (11353).
Solution
This error is a result of a customized reports with too many sortable fields and/or text fields, such as Tickler and Comments. This much info being passed can hang an AppServer when trying to generate the report.
Remove the Tickler and Comments from the sort-able fields on a report. Reduce the number of sort-able fields, as that creates additional temp table work and time for reports. Then reschedule report.
Steps For Solution
- Go into Report Output Management.
- Pick problem output and Update Output.
- Remove unnecessary fields in the Sortable Fields section,Remove Tickler or Comments as sortable fields.
- Save output.
- When running the report for first time after changes are made hit Default settings and re-select the reporting criteria.
- Reschedule the report using the updated output if desired.
