Accessing WebTrac/RecTrac: Spontaneous 502 IIS Error
RecTrac 3.1.10.18.00
Table of Contents
Problem
We have recently applied no system or software changes. Our attempts to access WebTrac or RecTrac (Live or Demo) yield a spontaneous error. We verified through OpenEdge Progress that all WebSpeed Agents and the database are running properly.
Error Message
502 Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server
Solution
In this case, the 502 Error results from the RecTrac.lg file found at <x>:\VSI3\RecTrac\Data\LIVE or <x>:\VSI3\RecTrac\Data\DEMO, depending on database, exceeding 4.2 GB. To delete, turn off the RecTrac database. Once turned off, you can safely delete the RecTrac.lg (which will recreate itself once turned back on).
Steps For Solution
- Log in to OpenEdge Explorer.
- Turn off all "Live" or "Demo" (depending on database) AppServers and WebSpeeds.
- Turn off your "Live or "Demo" Database.
- Go to <x>:\VSI3\RecTrac\Data\LIVE
- Or <x>:\VSI3\RecTrac\Data\DEMO if the demo database is producing the error message
- Delete the RecTrac.lg.
- Log back in to OpenEdge Explorer.
- Turn on the Database.
- Turn on the AppServers and WebSpeeds.
You should now be able to access WebTrac and RecTrac successfully.
