Problem
We are experiencing a communication interruption with our PayTrac Link 2500 Credit Card pin pad on our local network.
Error Message
A TRIPOS Message displays on the Link 2500 pin pad instead of the activation code (i.e. P123456).
Solution
The local network was set to reject clients not supporting the 802.11w protocol. This must be turned off for the network to communicate properly with the Link 2500.
Note:
Most likely your RecTrac server admin / IT will need to be involved as the process to implement the following steps for solution may vary based on your server's firewall configuration.
Steps For Solution
- Ensure the network firewall allows traffic in and out on ports 443 and 9001.
- Ensure network firewall rules are not blocking communication to credit card pin pads.
- Ensure 802.11w protocols are not set to be rejected on the local network for Link 2500 pin pad devices.
Test your pin pad again, this time it should not produce the error message.
