3.1 Overriding Minimum Payment due in RecTrac Global Sales
Problem
Is there a way to allow a minimum payment/partial payment at the RecTrac payment processing screen without having to change anything in the management settings during the sale?
I had to sell an annual family pass to a family who had a scholarship worth $300. At first, I couldn't sell it to them because the minimum amount that could be paid was set at 100% and at the payment processing screen, the option to allow any less amount is locked. I was able to change the minimum payment due from 'Pass Management' and then changed it back to 100% after I sold the pass.
I was advised not to do it this way, because during the time I changed the price to the time I changed it back, someone could have purchased a pass in WebTrac and not had to pay the full amount.
Solution
Yes. Instead of changing the Minimum Payment Amount value on the main Fees screen, go to Advanced Fees and set the Minimum Payment Option for RecTrac/WebTrac.
Find the Fee in question, click Advanced Fee Change and expand the Miscellaneous Settings group. There is a Minimum Payment Option field. To require full payment for WebTrac transactions only, set this field to Percent - WebTrac Only and enter 100.00 in the Minimum Payment Amount field. Save your changes.
When set up as described above, patrons shopping on WebTrac will be required to pay 100% of the fee while patrons shopping in-house (i.e. purchasing the same item through RecTrac Global Sales) can pay any amount of the fee.
Refer to the 3.1 Product Help on the Fee Update screen. Use the 'i' or '?' buttons for field descriptions and other information as needed.
