10.3 and 3.1 The Repercussions of Running Installment Billing Earlier than the Bill Date
Problem
Is it possible to run CYMS Installment Billing prior to the billing date and if so, will it have any adverse affects on the database and/or household balances?
Solution
Technically it is possible to run billing early. However, it should NEVER be done. If you cannot run billing on the Billing Date, VSI advises you to run billing late, on a day after the billing date.
Running CYMS Installment Billing prior to the Bill Date will cause any advance payments to move from the Control Account (263 if Army, 232/233 if Air Force, 251005 if Navy, 251 if Marines) to the Revenue Account earlier than expected. This will cause problems with monthly financial reporting.
Additionally, billing early may have adverse affects on patrons who pay automatically through auto-debit to credit card, as their credit card will be charged on the day you run billing as opposed to the day they expect to be charged.
