Stuck on the Payment Screen

Problem
Something happened in the middle of a customer's credit card transaction and we are unable to process the transaction or back out of the payment screen in RecTrac. We get an error message when trying to back out that says we have authorized credit card transactions and need to remove them before leaving the payment screen. How do we get out of this?
Solution
There are instances where you could be stuck on the Payment Screen with an authorized credit card payment that was made in error.
Note:
Do not close the browser. This would result in a charge to the CC Gateway but no corresponding charge in RecTrac.
Steps For Solution
- From the Payments screen in Global Sales, try highlighting the item in the Payments DataGrid.
- Click Delete Line Item.
- If the Authorized Credit Card payment cannot be removed from the Payments DataGrid:
- It is best practice to click Process and complete the transaction. You may need to make an additional cash payment to meet any minimum payment requirements.
- On the Global Sales Look-Up screen, highlight the household for whom you just performed the transaction.
- Click Select.
- Click Purchase History.
- From the DataGrid, highlight the transaction made in error.
- Click Cancel > Cancel Selected Item.
- Click Refund.
Process through the refund transaction to correct this mistake.
