Windows Driver Installation
Installation
Driver installation should be completed prior to connectingthe printer.
1 In order to use the TSP100 futurePRNT with a Windows computer, it is necessary to first install the printerdriver. Please obtain the latest driver here: : http://www.starmicronics.com/support/.
2 Follow the manufacture's guide tolaunch the installation wizard.
3 Click I Accept at theLicense Agreement to continue.
4 Click Next at the Welcomescreen to continue.
5 Choose the user and then clickNext to continue.
6 Choose the Typicalinstallation option to be sure that all of the TSP100 future PRNT’s optionsare installed. Then click Next to continue.
7 Click Install to begin theinstallation process.
8 Wait while the installation runs,and click Finish when prompted.
9 Refer to the Quick Install Manualincluded in the original printer box for further instructions on properconnection of the printer to the computer.
Configuring on Windows
The TSP100 configuration application allows you to controlthe look and content of printed receipts. You can set up separateconfigurations for Star Line mode and for ESC/POS mode. The followinginformation explains the settings for ESC/POS mode.
Launching the Configuration Application
1 Plug the printer into a powersource and power it up.
2 In Windows, click on the WindowsStart button, select Settings, and click on Devices and Printers
3 Right-click on the name of theTSP100 printer driver, and click Printer Properties.
4 The driver’s Properties dialogappears. Select the TSP100 Config tab, and click the LaunchConfiguration Application button.
5 If multiple TSP printer devicesare currently connected, the program will display the following dialog. Choosethe appropriate device, and click OK.
· If only one TSP printer is connected, the program skips thefollowing dialog box and jumps directly to the Select an Emulation dialog box.
6 The program will ask you whichemulation you wish to configure: either Star Line Mode (the default) or ESC/POSmode. Choose Star Line Mode (default).
Check the Print Job Routing
1 Highlightthe Print Job Routing menu and verify that the Enable ESC/POS Routingoption is selected.
Linking a Receipt Logo Top and/or Bottom
1 Click the Image List menu.
2 Click Add New, browse toyour logo and select it.
3 Enter an Image ID Name.
4 Adjust the Width, Dither Method,and Levels as needed.
5 Click Test Print to seewhat the image will look like.
6 When finished, click Use Image.
7 You'll be returned to the ImageList and your new Image ID will be listed on the screen. Repeat steps 2 through6 for all images you wish to add.
8 Select Logos & Cropping onthe menu.
9 Select Add for your TopImage List or Bottom Image List.
10 If you add multiple images toeither section select whether you wish to "Cycle" through the imagesand print only 1 on each receipt or "Print All".
11 Adjust cropping as needed. ApplyChanges, and Close.
RecTrac Setup
Create and Link Printer and Peripheral Profiles
Note: Any file paths and screen/tab locations in this documentrefer to paths and screen/tab locations as they appear in the standard, defaultVermont Systems design. Your setup and Design may vary.
1 In RecTrac, search for and go toProfile Assignments.
2 Click Add at the bottom ofthe DataGrid.
3 Enter a Profile Code, suchas STAR TSP 100
4 Select "Printer" asyour Profile Type.
5 Enter a Description, ifdesired and click Create.
6 Enter Star TSP 100 Cutter(TSP143) in the Windows Printer Path/Name field.
Note: The above assumes "default setup." If the printername is other than Star TSP 100 Cutter (TSP143), enter the alternate name andprinter path here.
7 Click Save. You will bereturned to Profile Assignments.
8 Click Add at the bottom ofthe DataGrid.
9 Enter a Profile Code, suchas "Peripherals - Star Printer with Drawer Attached."
10 Select "Peripherals" asyour Profile Type.
11 Enter a Description, ifdesired and click Create.
12 Enter settings as displayed above.
13 In the event your TSP has a nameother than Star TSP 100 Cutter (TSP143), enter the name you gave your printerin the Drawer #1 and Drawer #2 (if applicable) fields.
14 Click Save when done. Youwill return to Profile Assignments.
15 In Profile Assignments, expand theWorkstations Tab in the Linked Profiles Column (middle column).
16 Expand the Workstation to which youwish to link the Printer and Peripherals profiles.
17 In the Available Profiles column(left column), highlight/select the Star TSP Printer profile you created above.
18 Use your mouse to "Drag"the profile into the middle column.
19 When the Workstation name turnsgreen, "Drop" the profile into place.
20 Expand the Combo Box for Choose away to link this Record and select Printer - 40 Column Receipt and clickContinue. In the event other options apply, click those as well.
21 Repeat Steps 16-19 above for thePeripherals profile.
22 Repeat all the steps in thissection, as needed, each applicable Star TSP 100 printer.
