The Session Cleaner runs but does not clean any sessions
RecTrac 3.1.10.21.00
Table of Contents
Problem
It appears our session cleaner has been running, however we still notice a pile of sessions in session management. How can we ensure these get properly cleaned out?
Error Message
Event logs will show (Procedure: 'sessioninfo-end Business/SessionCleaner.p' Line:1102) Insufficient disk space or Write access denied.(291)
Solution
You will need to remove the SessionCleaner.txt file from X:\VSI3\Progress\DLC117_WRK\vsi\rectrac on the RecTrac server, then restart the scheduled event.
Note:
Given enough bot traffic to any WebTrac site over time, the session cleaning log file can approach a value greater than 4GB causing sessions to no longer be cleaned by the scheduled event.
Steps For Solution
- Go to X:\VSI3\Progress\DLC117_WRK\vsi\rectrac on the RecTrac server.
- Locate and delete the SessionCleaner.txt.
- Return to Rectrac and log in if necessary.
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Scheduled Events Management.
- Highlight the SessionCleaner event from the DataGrid.
- Click Change Event.
- Change Record Status to Inactive.
- Click Save.
- Now back on the Scheduled Events Management DataGrid, with the Session Cleaner event still highlighted, click Change Event.
- Change Record Status to Active.
- Click Save.
After removing the SessionCleaner.txt file and restarting the Scheduled Event within RecTrac, the system will generate a fresh SessionCleaner.txt file and start cleaning sessions again.
