The RSS Export program allows you to generate an .xml file that can be used to post Rich Site Summary (RSS) Feeds to WebTrac OR that can be imported into 3rd party software for other uses and means of distribution. The export file generated by this program will be available in the Document Center. Document Type=RSS.
Elements that can be exported to the .xml file include upcoming Miscellaneous Events, Programs (Activities), Ticketed Shows/Events, Trips, and Leagues for which patrons may wish to register or otherwise be made aware of using RSS as the means of conveyance vs. other methods, such as your WebTrac Event Calendar, RecConnect email blasts, and your RecTrac brochures.
When posted to WebTrac as an RSS Feed, your patrons can opt to subscribe to the service and receive RSS feeds through certain web sites to which they have an account, such as Yahoo, Goggle, and etc....
The RSS Export program can be scheduled to run at regular periodic intervals, if desired.
Note: To use the RSS Export program, you must have a Web Menu item for RSS Feed on the Menu linked to your Web Parameter Record.
Note: Field names on the screen with red labels* are required by the screen design you are using. Mandatory fields in the default Vermont Systems design are noted where appropriate. Your design and mandatory fields may vary.
From the bottom of the screen,
Click Export to complete the process and generate the Export file. The export file will be available in the Document Center. Document Type=RSS.
