The Cost Center Maintenance program allows you to add, update, delete, and clone Cost Centers. Cost Center Codes allow you to further define General Ledger Codes by assigning a specific place (i.e. a "center") where revenue, tax or expense linked to a GL Code goes to or comes from. In a sense, they are are sub-sets of your GL Codes, or just another way to "slice" or track your data. Setting up Cost Center Codes, gives you the ability to report greater detail on your GL Accounts, if desired.
For Example: You have separate GL Codes for Program Revenue (501), Vending Machine Revenue (301) and Point-of-Sale Revenue (201). You have two (2) Facility Locations (Pool and Community Center). By creating Cost Center Codes for each Location, you could track GL Revenue by location where it was generated as outlined in the table below/
Pool Cost Center | Com Cntr Cost Center | Total by GL | |
---|---|---|---|
GL 501 Program Revenue | $13,500.00 | $11,325.00 | $24,825.00 |
GL 301 Vending Revenue Revenue | $12,00.00 | $43,000.00 | $55,000.00 |
GL 201 POS Revenue | $950.00 | $1,100.00 | $2,050.00 |
Total by Cost Center | $26,450.00 | $55,425.00 | $81,875.00 |
