The Rental Package Maintenace program allows you to add new and update existing rental packages. A rental package consists of a group of rental items that you allow patrons to rent "one item" (i.e. a package), often at a lesser price than if each item was rented separately. Creating a rental package allows you to save time during processing, as you have to select the package only into the "shopping cart" as opposed to selecting each item individually.
Note: Field names on the screen with red labels* are required by the screen design you are using. Mandatory fields in the default Vermont Systems design are noted where appropriate. Your design and mandatory fields may vary.

Package Links (SAPackageUPDATE_SAPackageLinkDataGrid)
The Linked Items DataGrid displays all Items linked to this Package, along with the quantity of each item linked. In the event you are using Wildcards as opposed to actual items, the Wildcard identifier will display.
Wildcards allow you to save time when setting up your Packages, for they will link items of the same type based on a common identifier. Those items will be available in Daily Processing.
For Example, assume that you have 25 sets of skis set up as separate rental items (SKI-01, SKI-02, SKI-03, etc...) . You may have a SKIS" package that includes a set of skis linked it. However when renting the Package you do not care which of the 25 pairs of skis is linked to the package. You could enter "SKI-" as a Wildcard. During the package reservation process for the SKIS rental package the system will find and select the first available set of skis based on the SKI1 common identifier.
