Use this Add Parent Layer/Add Child Layer/Update Layer screen when adding or updating a layer.
It's helpful to have multiple layers and use Switch Buttons to navigate between layers. For Example: The first layer might show an area map with your two campgrounds. Patrons begin by selecting a campground and then view the site availability within it (opening another layer for each campground). Similarly, with event ticketing your first layer might be the entire arena with the event seating sections labeled. Patrons click on a seating section to view the available seats within a given section (opening another layer for that seating section) for this event.
You MUST have the images needed for the layers and/or buttons stored on your RecTrac Server. With the default installation location this path would be \VSI3\RecTrac\WebServer\GUI\images\ and might include subfolder(s).
WebGraphicalMaintenanceAddLayer_Tab1
Change Parent (WebGraphicalMaintenanceAddLayer_ParentID)
This field is applicable only if you chose to Update Layer.
Accept the default value (---- Root/No Parent ----) or expand the Drop-down list to select layer to use.
If this is a parent layer then leave ---- Root/No Parent ----.
If this layer is a child layer then select a parent layer.
For Example: Your organization has two campgrounds on either side of the lake when a patron views your camping page he/she first sees a large area map showing both campgrounds. When the patron clicks on one campground they should see the sites that are available for reservation. To accomplish this within RecTrac you will need two (3) layers:
- A parent layer which is the large area map with both campgrounds.
- A child layer featuring the first campground's sites.
- A child layer featuring the second campground's sites.
You add buttons to toggle between hiding and showing these three (3) layers. You add buttons for the individual campsites patrons can reserve.
DeleteLayer Description (WebGraphicalMaintenanceAddLayer_Description)
Enter a Description for this layer, which only displays within this editor. Often multiple layers are used and the description helps you know which layer to update.
DeleteLayer Image (Relative to Image Path) (WebGraphicalMaintenanceAddLayer_Image)
Enter the filename and the file extension of an image file to use as this layer's background image, relative to the server's Images folder. Acceptable file types include .jpg, .gif, and .png. The image MUST reside in the server's Images folder or a subfolder underneath it.
For Example: You have a hand-drawn map of the Trout Brook campground's RV, tent, and cabin spots. It is saved as a Campgrounds.png file.
1. Prerequisite -- Copying File to Server's Images Folder:
Prior to using the image, it must reside in the RecTrac server's Images path. When the default installation path is used, the images MUST be stored on your server in: X:\VSI3\RecTrac\WebServer\GUI\images\ (where X is the drive letter of the RecTrac installation). Ask your organization's IT for help copying the file.
2. File resides within the Images folder (and NOT a subfolder):
Enter the following into the Layer Image field within RecTrac: Campgrounds.png without the location as it resides directly within the server's Images folder.
3. File resides within a subfolder to the Images folder:
Enter: Camp/Campgrounds.png to specify the subfolder, image filename and file extension.
Note: The direction of the slashes is important and MUST match what the program is expecting or it will NOT work. Try reversing the slashes if the image does not initially display. Double-check the spelling of the folder name and file names as it MUST be exact.
DeleteLayer Width (Pixels) (WebGraphicalMaintenanceAddLayer_Width)
Enter the width in pixels of your layer. To avoid cropping a background image, the width of the layer and the width of the image MUST be the same.
DeleteLayer Height (Pixels) (WebGraphicalMaintenanceAddLayer_Height)
Enter the height in pixels of this layer. To avoid cropping a background image, the height of the layer and the height of the image MUST be the same.
