Pass visits are slow to complete and show in DataGrid
RecTrac 3.1.10.18.00
Table of Contents
Problem
As pass holders scan in it can sometimes take 15-20 seconds for the visit to appear on the RecTrac screen and DataGrid. It seems to get slower as the day goes on. Is there any way we can speed this process up?
Solution
There are two areas to check in RecTrac that can play a big role in the speed of Visit Processing.
1) In the Visit Profile, the Photo display and how long to keep Photos in the DataGrid. You can still always view the member photo by clicking on the "View Photo" button in the visit DataGrid even after the set time.
2) Using screen design from Processing Screen Management, adjust the number of visits to display in DataGrid.
Steps For Solution
To change the Photo Display Time:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Profile Assignments.
- Highlight the Visit Profile that is active for your user/user group/workstation/default.
- Click Update.
- Lower the value of Length in Minutes to keep Images Visible in Visit Datagrid?
- The lower this value is the better processing speeds you can expect. Vermont Systems recommends 30 minutes or less.
- Click Save.
To change the number of visits that are displayed in the DataGrid:
- From the RecTrac main menu, go to Processing Screen Management.
- From the DataGrid, highlight the VisitProcessingArea3 screen linked to your custom screen design code.
- If you do not have a VisitProcessingArea3 screen in the DataGrid, click Add.
- Choose VisitProcessingMain from the drop-down.
- Choose the Design code that you wish to associate with this new screen.
- Click Continue this will open the editor for the VisitProcessingMain_Tab1.
- Click Done to go back to the Processing Screen Management DataGrid,
- Highlight VisitProcessingArea3 from the DataGrid.
- Click Change.
- Expand the Fields on Screen, until you can highlight the Visits (GlobalSalesArea_VisitDetailDataGrid) (DataGrid).
- Under the Field Parameters column, using the in-line edit, change SearchFirstinitialMax to 50.
- Click Done.
After addressing both areas of RecTrac and reloading Visit Processing you should notice increased performance.
