3.1 and 10.3 Credit Card Transactions Slow on Windows 7 Workstations
Problem
In RecTrac, our credit card transactions are taking several minutes on new Windows 7 workstations. How can we resolve this?
Solution
This problem is the result of Windows 7 causing RecTrac to hang when an invalid receipt printer is specified on the credit card device.
Example: The linked credit card device points to ITHACA for the AuthReceipt printer; but no 40 column printer is attached to the workstation.
The solution for this problem is to link an Auth-Receipt Device with a valid printer to the workstation. The Auth-Receipt Device overrides the receipt printer listed in the credit card device.
