3.1 ETS Credit Card Error: Workstation not communicating with the AppServer?
Problem
Workstation not communicating with the AppServer?
Put the Credit Card in and an error pops up. It does go through on ETS. The machines in question are not using Swipe Devices.
We are on 3.1.05.04 and the VIC version is 3.1.5.11.
This is the message:
Error Communicating with AppServer. If you process this transaction again you will most likely charge the customer again. Before you continue, contact your RecTrac administrator and have them check the transaction at the ETS Portal.
Solution
Troubleshooting this issue revealed that:
1. There was an ETS Pinpad profile linked at the default level of Hierarchy as opposed to the workstation.
2. The Pinpad profile did not have an entry in the Terminal ID field.
3. There was no Terminal IDs on the ETS Credit Card profile, either.
Advised the Customer to contact ETS and obtain valid Terminal ID numbers. Terminal ID numbers should be entered on the Pinpad profile.
Additionally, Credit Card profile and Pinpad profile should be linked at the Workstation level of Profile Hierarchy (or better).
