10.3 and 3.1 ETS Encrypted Card Readers declined when using Manual Entry
Problem
M130 Encrypted card readers when entering cards in manually are getting declined; transactions also do not hit ETS.
I have been trying to put through various different credit cards by keying the number, not swiping it.
The system takes the number and goes like it is going to process but then gives me a declined message (this happens with my personal card as well and I get a text from bank that my card was declined)
So we have a problem somewhere that needs to be fixed because we take a lot of over the phone registrations.
Transaction also not hitting the ETS account either as the only thing showing is a damage deposit refund I processed earlier today.
Solution
ETS has identified the issue as being specific to the IDTech M130 card reader and manual card entry. When the transaction is processed to the issuing bank of the credit card, ETS is marking the transaction as card present. The transaction should be sent as manual entry.
ETS plans to implement a fix during Q2 2016.
