3.1 ETS Credit Cards were working yesterday and not working today
Problem
Credit cards are completely down at all sites and stating that we need to enter the merchant credentials. We use ETS as our credit card solution and they say it isn't them. Please help!!!
Solution
Go to one of the workstation from which you process credit cards and check the VIC logs for ETS entries.
When using ETS as your credit card solution, VIC will try to login to ETS with the credentials from your ETS credit card profile and your ETS pinpad profile. If the login is successful, then it will return a line to the log that says 'Login:0.' If the login is NOT successful it will return a different number.
Note: Your VIC Logging Level must be set to '3 - Verbose' or greater to see this entry. VIC Logging Levels are maintained on the Static Parameters profile Logging/Debug Settings group.
A failed login to ETS strongly suggests a mismatch between what you have listed for Customer ID, Password, and/or Terminal ID on your profiles/devices and what is stored at ETS. The mismatch could be any of those or all of those. In the event you have a mismatch, your best solution is to call ETS and verify that your information matches what they have for your account. Make changes as necessary.
Note: If you are in the process of migrating to the ETS EMV/Ingenico is250 solution, it is likely that ETS has changed your Terminal ID. Verify this information with ETS.
