Problem
VeriFone Point auto debit card setup issue with $1 sale but no void. When adding a credit card to a household for use with auto debit it should do a $1 sale and then void to create the token. We found that if the pin pad had counter tip enabled, then the sale works but the void fails, therefore charging the patrons card $1 in error. mx915, mx925 recurring, billing, pin pad
Solution
The pin pads used for auto debit recurring billing were set to allow tips. Pin pads used for billing should have the Tips option turned off/disabled: Two solutions:
Option 1: Contact your credit card management group to request the proper files be pushed to the unit. You will need to provide the serial number to the unit. For Navy contact the CNIC helpdesk, Army customers contact the VSI ASP team, and all others can contact VeriFone Support.
Option 2: Manually Configure the Pin Pad.
a.Log into the terminal, (press 1 5 9 at the same time and release)
b.Enter the password 166832 then press enter- green circle.
c. Select the Administration tab.
d. Select the Config tab.
e. Select config.usr1 It will take a minute or so for anything to happen after this selection. Scroll down (hundreds of line items) to the 'counterTip = Y' value. Enter and change to 'N'. Exit and reboot.
