3.1 ETS: 'Press Continue to manually input card data' after migrating to 3.1
Problem
Has anyone ran into an issue during a migration or any other time where swiping a credit card does not work but manual entry does? The window is active when trying to swipe, but swipe doesn't work.
Instead, a text box appears saying, 'please continue to enter manually' and does not say anything else.
Solution
The window will usually say, 'Insert / Swipe Card or Press Continue.' Since it is not saying that, you should check your Pinpad profile setup.
- If the Terminal ID field is blank, try inputting 0000.
- Logout of RecTrac and log back in.
- Try another sale.
- If the credit card still doesn't allow swipe, then contact ETS to get the correct Terminal ID. Call 800-834-7790 x2 or support@etsms.com.
In this customer's case, after contacting ETS, the terminal ID that was to be used was 0001, and the credit card sales could be processed with swiping after adding this to the pinpad profile.
