3.1 CardConnect decline in RecTrac Info: Failed to connect to vsi.cardconnect.com port 8443: Connection
Problem
Trying to process a GUI RecTrac transaction using CardConnect Gateway.
Transaction is declined.
Solution
1. Set Vic Appserver logging level to Verbose in Static Parameters.
2. Process the transaction again.
3. On the server hosting the RecTrac VIC Appserver, go to the Progress Session Temp directory. Find the curl logs that have a time stamp close to the time of the processed transaction.
4. If curl log has something similar to
12:17:54.935000 == Info: Trying 69.164.93.9...
12:17:56.136000 == Info: connect to 69.164.93.9 port 8443 failed: Connection refused
12:17:56.136000 == Info: Failed to connect to vsi.cardconnect.com port 8443: Connection refused
12:17:56.136000 == Info: Closing connection 0
Then go to the VIC appserver server and perform both tests below
a. Telnet vsi.cardconnect.com 8443
b. Open a browser and go to https://vsi.cardconnect.com:8443
5. If either (or both) test fails, then this is a firewall issue at the merchant site. Contact CardConnect for firewall ip/port requirements.
6. Until BOTH tests succeed, RecTrac-CardConnect transactions will not be possible.
