3.1/10.3 CardConnect error message: "Refunds can only be processed with an order ID"
Problem
We use CardConnect as our gateway. I'm trying to process a refund through it, but RecTrac keeps giving me the following error message: "Refunds can only be processed with an order ID." The result is I am unable to refund a credit card with CardConnect.
Solution
Use a different credit card pay code. The one you are trying to use to process the refund was setup for a "Manual" payment or some other character entry was made into the prefix field. You cannot process a refund on a pay code that has words in the prefix field. Stick to credit card payment codes that have a number value in the prefix field and everything will be a-okay!
