SAFormTransitionUpdate_Tab1
Workflow Code (SAFormTransition_WorkflowCode)
This is a mandatory field for the default Vermont Systems design. Your design and setup may vary.
You will not visit this field. If you are creating a new record this field will be autofilled with the Workflow Code of the linked Form Workflow.
DeleteStep (SAFormTransition_WorkflowStep)
Enter the Workflow Step that you want to be followed for this Form Transition record.
DeleteFrom Status (SAFormTransition_FromStatus)
Expand the Drop-down list and select the From Status Code(s) from which you want to transition the form at this workflow step.
When transitioning a Form, the application will list all possible transition steps where the current status of the Form matches one of the values in the From Status on the transition step. Transitions with a blank From Status will always be displayed as an option when transitioning a form. If you would like to enforce strict form transitions, then enter the applicable step(s) in the From Status field on the Form Transition. If you would like to allow your staff to utilize this transition step regardless of the current status of a form, then leave the From Status field on the Form Transition blank.
Example 1:A form workflow has the following status: Submitted (1), In Review (2), Approved (3), In Progress (4), Complete (5). If you wish to enforce strict workflow rules, each transition step will have both the From Status and To Status populated with a valid Form Status Code. This will require forms to move strictly from one step to the next in the workflow, without skipping any steps.
Step Number | From Status | To Status |
---|---|---|
1 | From Status is always blank on Step 1 Transitions | Submitted |
2 | Submitted | In Review |
3 | In Review | Approved |
4 | Approved | In Progress |
5 | In Progress | Complete |
A form workflow has the following status: Submitted (1) In Review (2) Approved (3) In Progress (4) Complete (5). If you wish to allow for staff to skip workflow steps and/or move forms backward in the workflow then leave the From Status field on the Transition blank. This will allow staff to move a form to any step in the workflow from any other step in the workflow.
Step Number | From Status | To Status |
---|---|---|
1 | From Status is always blank on Step 1 Transitions | Submitted |
2 | Blank | In Review |
3 | Blank | Approved |
4 | Blank | In Progress |
5 | Blank | Complete |
