How to Email Receipts and Reports from the Preview Mode in RecTrac 3.1
Problem
When processing sales in RecTrac 10.3, we had the option - from the print screen - to select whether to email or print the receipt. I don't see this in 3.1. Is there any way to set that back up? I'm aware that I can tell it to email before I hit print, but there are many cases that we need to email these receipts to different people within the organization and to have to pull it, then save to our system, then go back to our email program is highly time consuming.
Solution
The answer here is really Yes and No. Yes, this functionality can be restored, but it needs to be done through your browser and Adobe, and not through RecTrac.
Receipt and Report .pdfs are handled through your web browser in RecTrac. To email a receipt or report from the Preview, use the Download icon from the preview to open the receipt in Adobe. Once open in Adobe, you can email it from there. This is an easy process when using Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer, as the system uses Adobe to open the report when using the download icon.
Google Chrome does not offer this same functionality. If you are using Google Chrome as your RecTrac browser, you will need to configure the browser to open .pdfs in Adobe and not as a plug-in. See the attached document for instructions.
