3.1 Receipt printing takes a long time when using certain images
Problem
My users remark that when our logo is linked to a receipt profile, the receipt print time goes from a couple of seconds to over a minute, and they've been asking what might be causing this. Our Receipt Logo image is only 27KB, and the file name is 'logo.jpg.'
Solution
There is a known issue with Receipt Logos where, if the image file being used was edited and saved in a 3rd party graphic design application, speed issues can arise when attempting to print the logo in RecTrac. So even though the image is saved as a .jpg and follows the standard VSI name and size conventions, it still takes a long time to print.
A work around for this is to open and re-save the image in a basic application, such as Paint or Paint.net. Simply take the current JPEG file that is causing the speed issue, right-click and Open With... Paint or Paint.net, and re-save it as a .JPEG/.jpg with a different name. Link the new image to your Receipt Format profile / device in RecTrac.
Most times, this fixes the issue.
