RecTrac 3.1 - Previewing Reports in Demo opens new Browser and prompts for Login
Problem
If you are experiencing either of the below mentioned problems, follow the solution mentioned in the following section.
- Scenario #1: In the demo system, when trying to preview a report, a new browser window opens to ask the user to log in
- Scenario #2: I am stuck on 'Loading Necessary Files' when trying to launch RecTrac 3.1. The database was just copied from one server to another.
Solution
Scenario #1: Check to ensure the Interface Parameters for your Demo database are correct. If changes are needed, use the DB_Utilities tool.
Scenario #2: There are settings inside the DB that reference the URLs for access. When you copy a database from one machine to another, these values are no longer valid.
1. Run the Database Utilities program from Windows. (C:\VSI3\Misc, by default) or Start > All Programs > VSI3.
2. Select the Update Interface Parameters option.
3. Select valid Base HREF and Database File paths. Click Process.
4. Click Close when the utility completes.
